The Gathering

Twice a year, the earth pauses at perfect balance — equal light, equal dark — and asks us to do the same. The Fall Equinox Ritual Weekend is ChoZen’s seasonal gathering for that pause: three spacious days of ceremony, earth-to-table meals, restorative practice, and firelit community, held on the forty regenerative acres we call home.

This is an intimate gathering by design — we welcome a small number of guests each season so the experience, and the land, stay unhurried.

The Experience

What It Feels Like to Be Here

Group meditation session under a canvas tent with cozy blankets

Slow Mornings

No alarms, no agendas before sunrise. Mornings open gently — meditation, movement, and quiet, in whichever order your body asks for.

Farm table buffet with fresh salads in wooden bowls

Earth-to-Table

Meals built around what our local lands and seas are offering. Harvest dinners, shared brunches, unique opportunities to connect and break bread in community.

Smudging ceremony with feather and smoking incense bowl

Ceremony & Fire

An opening fire to mark arrival. An equinox ceremony to mark the balance. A lantern walk to carry the light back into the dark. Ritual that means something, asked of no one.

Guest walking barefoot along a quiet pine forest trail

Stillness

A silent walk through the land at the close of the weekend — no instruction, no destination. Just the land, and the version of you that arrived three days ago, listening.

Programming

Held, with Care

Each ceremony and practice this weekend is led with intention by facilitators who know this land and this season well. Meditation and yoga to settle the body. A Harvest Ritual to mark gratitude. An Equinox Ceremony to honor the turning point of the year. A Lantern Walk to close the circle.

Facilitator details for this gathering will be announced to registered guests as the weekend approaches.

Culinary

From the Earth to the Table

Every meal this weekend features food from our own soil. Vegetables harvested that morning. Herbs cut an hour before service. The Harvest Dinner that opens the weekend, the Harvest Brunch that carries it through Saturday, and the Harvest Feast Saturday evening — each one built around what our local lands were ready to give.

For guests who return, year after year, to mark the turning of the year together.
